My goal is to help you evolve into the person you want to be. I want to work with you to identify your passions, personality, strengths, and liabilities and forge a path to fulfillment. The goals you set will be the focal point of our time together. We will have to address weaknesses and problems to get you where you want to be.

You may struggle with depression, anxiety, trauma, addiction, relationship issues, or something else. That’s okay. We can handle those things. You’ll probably have to face some hard truths. You may need to make some difficult changes along the way. We’ll work through those things together. All along we will stay motivated by the end goal, and in the end, if you stay the course, you will be the person and live the life you want.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LADC). I am a member of the Oklahoma Counseling Association and the Oklahoma Drug and Alcohol Professional Counselor Association. I’ve provided counseling services for the past 12 years. I spent four years directing community-based, outpatient treatment programs. I am a board-approved licensure supervisor for LPC and LADC/CADC candidates. I spend my time and energy trying to maximize my own potential as I help others maximize theirs. I’d love to help you evolve.

As a therapist, I am committed to helping individuals find hope in even the most hopeless situations. My goal is to help you be the best version of yourself, to feel comfortable in the uncomfortable, and build healthy positive relationships.

Through the power of the therapeutic relationship, I can help you identify positive changes and create new thought patterns to help you accomplish your goals and be the person you have always wanted to be. I believe that making positive changes to improve your life may be difficult, but it will be one of the most rewarding gifts an individual can offer themselves.

I have experience working with a wide range of clientele – women, men, children, adolescents, families, and couples with an array of issues including trauma, relationship issues, depression, anxiety, grief, and substance use. I strive to see each client as an individual with individual needs and understand that there is not a one-size-fits-all modality for therapy.

I will work with you using a variety of counseling techniques. I am trained in written exposure therapy, play therapy, trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy, solution-focused therapy, and cognitive-behavioral therapy. I’d love the opportunity to work with you!

As Brené Brown says, “Don’t ask what the world needs. Ask what makes you come alive and go do it. Because what the world needs is people who have come alive.” I believe my job as a therapist is to come alongside individuals and families and help them come alive. We all deserve the opportunity to be the best that we can be, and I am honored to share that experience with my clients.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor-Candidate working towards my full licensure in Oklahoma. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Family and Human Services and my Master of Science in Community Counseling from John Brown University. I enjoy helping adolescents and adults work through the issues of life. I offer help for a wide range of issues including but not limited to anxiety, life adjustments, boundaries, coping skills, depression, grief and loss, self-esteem, and challenging relationships. I strive for clients to feel empowered and respected throughout their time with me. I use a caring, non-judgmental, strengths-based approach to therapy and consider it a privilege to be part of my client’s journey. I am trained in various modalities of therapy and am committed to finding the right approach for each client.

I’ve been married for 24 years and have four children.

I look forward to serving individuals and families in Tulsa and beyond.

I am humbled every day when clients allow me to walk along side of them through their personal challenges and then cheer them on as they work towards the goals we have set together.  We live in a world where there is more time spent on a phone instead of face-to-face conversations. Therapy gets us back to the basics of really hearing each other and figuring out a highly individualized approach. Whether you need a therapist for individual work, couple counseling, or help for your child. I will be honored to help you in your process to a healthier and happier life.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor-Candidate and have a dual degree in Marriage and Family therapy. I am certified in the Gottman Method, EMDR, Trauma Focused CBT, and I’m currently completing the hours to become a Trauma play therapist for the state of Oklahoma.

I have worked with highly traumatized children in the therapy playroom and treasure every moment that you and your child trust me to help them. Plato once said, “You can learn more about a child in one hour of play than you can in one year of conversation.” When we play in the sand tray or play a simple game of UNO there is therapy going on and information being gained. There is nothing too big that won’t be overcome in the playroom.

I help clients of all ages break through anxiety’s powerful grip, depression or the wounds left by trauma. I will help you gain back peace and empower you to move through life and future challenges. We will work through the feelings of shame, guilt and hopelessness so that you can find a HOPE!!

Life throws us many unexpected difficulties. We often experience the biggest challenges during life transitions such as adolescence, going off to college, dating, marriage, job stress, raising our own children, and many more. Being an adult of any age can be full of strong and sometimes unfamiliar emotions. I want to help you navigate through these feelings to be the best version of you possible.

I desire to work with a variety of individuals. I have experience working with many different ages ranging from young teenagers to senior citizens working on issues such as, depression, anxiety, family conflicts, relationship issues, trauma, and grief. I enjoy working with clients who identify as LGBTQIA+. In Oklahoma, there are many difficulties imposed on individuals who identify as such and I wish to walk with you through these challenges and help you find inner calm.  I have training in Mental Health Care for Transgender and Gender Diverse Communities.

I enjoy working with adolescents and adults. I develop strong relationships with clients and help you realize your own strengths. I will work with you to use these strengths to develop more positive coping skills and live a healthier, happier life. While I use a variety of skills and techniques to tailor our treatment to your needs, I primarily use Cognitive Behavior Therapy and Dialectical Behavior Therapy. We will work together to identify barriers to your progress.  I look forward to helping you through your journey to mental health.

Laura Reeder, LCSW, is a therapist who is passionate about helping clients heal from past wounds, gain self-awareness to behavioral patterns and be able to learn from generational trauma to find freedom and healing. She believes that every person desires love, acceptance and understanding and has past wounds that impact current behavior. Her philosophy is the more a person can learn about their past, the more they can understand their present and be able to feel confident in their future.

Laura says her goal is to work herself out of a job by helping the client get to a point where they can feel they are self-sufficient and have the tools needed to address the issues they faced when first coming to therapy. Her hope is that as a person understands themselves better and in a deeper way, they can make the changes they desire to see in their lives.

Laura uses EMDR, TF-CBT, mindfulness, and guided meditation in her sessions. She enjoys working as a team with her therapy dog Koda that is available for sessions for those who are interested. Laura has worked in substance abuse counseling for 8.5 years and is comfortable addressing addiction and addictive behaviors. She also has experience helping people with anxiety, depression, family conflict, trauma, and other mental health needs. She can provide Christian based counseling and a LGBTQ safe environment. Laura desires to help you reach your goals.
